Philadelphia Photographer
Karl Seifert

Since 1998, from East Coast to West Coast, Karl Seifert has honed his photographic skills in producing images that reveal his unique vision through both a connection with his subject and the technical mastery of his craft.

Karl specializes in portraiture and product photography for the editorial and advertising markets. His studio in Philadelphia’s historic Old City District, features 1800 square feet of shooting and production space and includes leading edge camera and computer systems, high speed web access and file transfer, merchandise tracking and comfortable client services. With his wide network of industry professionals and production vendors, Karl Seifert Photography is a valuable asset for his clients’ photographic assignments.

Raised in the Philadelphia area, Karl’s artistic talents were heightened during his teen years attending the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for Excellence in the Arts. His passion for photography led him across the United States capturing its beauty as he traveled. Arriving in San Francisco California in the 1990s, Karl found opportunity during the internet boom and opened his first studio on Fulton Street.

In 2000, Karl joined a state-of-the-art digital studio complex, now known as Starpoint Studios, staffed by a brilliant group of photographers, artists and entrepreneurs. For the following 5 years at Starpoint, he sharpened his skills in production, first as key grip and digital technician then studio manager. Karl moved on to shoot as a freelance photographer on the Macy’s West account. He worked closely with producers, art directors, stylists and digital artists on every aspect of a shoot from capture to print. This definitive experience gave Karl a solid understanding of the value of a well executed shoot.

Karl’s creative intuitions and conceptual perspective is revealed in his connection with his subject. Whether an assignment is simple or complex, Karl creates dynamic images that perpetuate the client’s mission, establishes leadership and maintains position in a demanding marketplace.

In addition to his commercial work, Karl creates fine art to share his personal expressions visually. His work includes perspectives of nature, documentary stories of the world around us and abstract image manipulations. He has exhibited in more than twenty shows nationwide. Currently, his work is exhibited at The S.O.T.A. Gallery in New Hope, PA and The Mattedi Gallery in Southern Maryland. Recently, Karl’s fine art was purchased by SMECO, an energy company in Southern Maryland, for its permanent collection at its new headquarters.
